The Word of God is Light to My Path, and a Lamp for my feet. Psalms 119:105
The Bible is God’s Words in written form. It is absolute truth. It will never change.
A regular practice of reading the Bible will transform your life. This journal is designed to help you start a habit today that you can continue until the day that you die. My prayer for you is that as you read and write down what you are learning that God will help you to understand and apply what you learn.
In order for the Bible to have a lasting effect you must do more than to simply read it. Below is a starting place for how to read, think about, and remember the words of God in the Bible.
S – Scripture
0 – Observation
A – Application
P – Prayer
Scripture – Write down, word for word, a verse that stands out to you from the passage that you just read.
Observation – Write down an observation or two from what you read. Ask yourself, what does this verse teach me?
Application – Write down how you can apply what you have learned in your life. Ask yourself, how does this verse work its way into my life?
Prayer – Write down a prayer to God based on the verse and how it applies to your life. Ask God to help you live out His truth.

Scripture: Mark 8:34 “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.
Observation: Although salvation is a free gift, following in the footsteps of Jesus requires my obedience at every level. When Jesus says, “deny yourself” he is saying deny your will, your selfish self-serving ways & live your life for Jesus.
Application: There are still areas of my life where I need to deny myself. There are things that are self serving and probably take away from the Kingdom of God. I believe that by denying these things I will find true freedom and a more abundant life.
Prayer: Jesus, I want to come after you. I lay down my own self wants and desires. I commit myself to doing your will and being your follower.
